Home Zero · the flow

Onboarding → the compounding loop

The whole journey as screens, in order, on real North Fork Valley data (46 live listings). Two questions born a team; the board sells the extension; a zero rides back as a card; the loop compounds. Each stage notes who the market authored vs. what the advisor authored — the boundary that governs everything.

Home Zero keeps you on top of every home you're watching.

Each morning, your advisor and the market agent read the public record on the homes you like — and brief you on what actually matters.

Who authors what
Nothing captured yet. The float is a market artifact (a real verdict headline), surfaced to signal competence before a single question.
Feedback hook: today the float can fall back to a text-only card when a listing has no image — the real-data rule wants it always real. The Stage 1 reflection fixes this for covered places.
1

Place → the market re-cut + new reflection

The first question's whole job is to nail down the market — not what kind of home you want (that's the advisor, Stage 2). The moment where resolves, the market reflects the place back; then you confirm or widen its boundary, and set the inventory range.

Market. Everything here nails down the market — confirm the place, refine its boundary (the boundary is a hypothesis the market sharpens), set the inventory range. The reflection is the market agent's first act. What kind of home you want isn't asked here — that's the advisor (Stage 2) and what your zeros reveal. Budget is shared (market frame + advisor's budget-comfort).
Build truth: the reflection has no producer today — it needs a where→market resolver + a published market-summary doc. That's the same build as fixing the createIntake Delta-hardcode. For an uncovered place there's no count — it's an honest "we'll stand up an agent for your area."
2

You → the advisor re-cut

The second question is about the person — private, never published. This seeds BUYER.md and the advisor's custom yearnings (mother reasons them from these answers).

Now — who's this for?

A few things your advisor should know about you. This stays private; it's how it learns to brief you, not anyone else.

Advisor. Everything here is person/private. "Who's this for" is the screen's spine (the richest yearning fuel). A picked card with an edited note = a high-confidence yearning; the free-text is where mother reasons custom ones.
Feedback hook: is two filled cards + free-text the right weight, or do you want a tighter set? The loop is the real instrument — these are just the priors.

One Finish births two agents. Births take minutes — so the board is alive immediately: the advisor greets first while the market comes online behind it.

◌ Coming online…
Who authors what
Advisor greets instantly from the intake alone. The market agent births/attaches behind the relationship. zero-mother seeds both from the two germs.
Build truth: this needs a reactive market-ready flip — when the market finishes, "coming online" → real teasers without a page reload. Without it, decision 10 ("no async ping") silently means a manual refresh. For NFV today the market must be birthed (never done before — gated behind the seed migrator + blockers).

The board — the empty state is the onboarding briefing

No tabs, no Saved screen. First sign-in with zero homes zeroed: the advisor introduces the market, shows what it'll learn about you (yearnings, empty bars), and hands you exactly one move.

Who authors what
Advisor hosts the surface (greeting, the "what I'm learning" panel). The market supplies the 46-home reality it introduces. The board's one CTA is the extension — because it's the energy source.
Build truth: the board is design (today's signed-in app still has the Saved tab). The "what I'm learning" bars need a public-safe projection of the cell-private yearnings — that projection must be specified or the panel can't render.

Get the extension — arming the loop

The board sent them here. Install inherits the web session (no second login). Web-first is canonical; the extension is the energy source, not a side feature.

Who authors what
Neither agent — this is the buyer arming the loop. The session inheritance (Clerk sync-host) is already solved.
Origin caveat (load-bearing): the session inheritance is pinned to delta.homezero.md. The board must live on that same origin, or "install → it's already you" silently breaks.

At $769,000 this 1994 ranch sits close to both the county's valuation and the automated market estimate — a fair, no-trap price. The catch: its headline selling points, water rights and a solar system, can't be confirmed from the public record.

Market only. The overlay is the market's public read — safe to show on Zillow for any extension user (the growth loop). No advisor, no question, no 👍/👎 here. Tapping ◎ writes savedListings + rings the cell.
This is also the metered moment: free brief quota → the wall → $25/mo. The overlay is the install pitch and the funnel, same spot.

This is the closest thing yet to what you described — room, a valley setting, an honest price. But it leans on water rights and solar the record can't verify, and water is the thing you said matters most.
So — how much does confirmed water matter here? Enough to make me chase down the ditch record before you fall for it, or would you take the seller's word?

A Your advisor · your CliffsNotes
The quick version, for you: fair price, real room, but the water story is unproven — and water's your line. If the ditch right checks out this jumps near the top of your list; if it doesn't, it's just a nice big house at a fair price, which isn't what you came for.
Want me to ask the market agent to pull the actual ditch record before you spend more time on it?
Yes — verify the water Not yet
Who authors what
Market owns the whole left column (the giant briefing + appendix). Advisor owns the floating CliffsNotes — a personalized condensation of that briefing + a follow-up question. Note it can ask the market over agent-comms to verify the water (read-only depth channel).

Who authors what
Advisor owns the board's organization — the clusters, the narration, the sharpening bars, every question. Market keeps authoring each home (and its wiki of comps gets denser per zero). The "owned water" yearning has gone from 1 bar to 4 — that's the compounding.
Build truth: the board needs a write contract — single writer (the advisor cell); appends never lost; a re-cluster is a versioned replace that must preserve every card you engaged with.

That's the whole loop, end to end.

Two questions (place→market, person→advisor) → a team born → the board → the extension → a zero on Zillow → it lands back as a card → the loop sharpens. Every stage holds the boundary: the market authors the place & the home; the advisor authors you, the CliffsNotes, and every question. Spec: specs/the-flow.md (the through-line) + specs/surfaces/onboarding.md (the screens). Flags in red are the real build gaps — give feedback per stage.
